Star Castle.
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:45:25 PM »

There I was...bored between christmas and newyear, and I suddenly had a good idea while showering.
Yes, I get a lot of inspiration while showering...when you see the result you may wonder if I'm actually showering at all, but that's a discussion for another time. :P

...but I digress.

My good idea led me to start a new remake the same day and I've been working on it for less than two weeks by now and it's nearly done, so this one should be my fastest one yet. To be fair (against myself) I've reused a lot of code from Omega Race 2009 so that's made it easier to get as far as I have in this short time.

I only need to do two things: soundcode, and the enemy missiles. Then it'll be done.
The missiles are critical though, and I won't finish it "before it's done", but it shouldn't be long.

Here's a piccy of the menu.

Sweet Sokura and thanks for the first look see. Looking very nice indeed. I don't think anyone creates more remakes that you!

I have to agree about the shower for me too, alot of ideas come to me there.. sometimes I take a shower when I need a bit of a brain kick start. That and Red Bull works well ;)

Yaarh, it has been a very busy year. Probably also what's making me so stressed sometimes.
Hopefully I can finish off some, or even better - all, of my WIPs this year. That should help (until I start another 10 projects ;)).

Hrmf, I'm actually having a bit of a "Psycho Pigs problem" with the missiles. Unfortunately they're not just fire-and-forget missiles, but they need to be able to jump around on the rings, keep track of the player and be aware of the centre of the screen and be able to to go back on the rings.
So far I've written 10kb missile-code and none of it is worth a damn, but I just need to keep tweaking it and trying out new stuff. I'll get there. ;)

I can't say that my code is efficient but I've made a lot of progress tonight.
...must be the wine that keeps me from getting distracted by other things. :D
